-
Yes – we love clean lines, modern art and design. The interior showcases plenty of local wood (it’s a timber-built house), paired with high-quality furnishings, and you’ll also find contemporary art throughout.
-
Sustainability matters a great deal to us: all our accommodations run on solar energy, with optimised energy management and responsible water use. An eco-conscious approach built into modern comfort.
Arrival & Transport
-
The HOUSE is just a few steps from the beach (approx. 400 m), the supermarket (approx. 300 m) and several restaurants. Most things can be done on foot – your car can stay comfortably parked in the private parking space.
Arrival by regional bus is also possible: Transports Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Please note: seats must be booked in advance via the website or app. From the Lacanau Océan stop, it’s about a 1 km walk to La CLOCHETTE.
-
Yes, free enclosed parking is available right on the property, with electric vehicle charging available (solar-powered).
-
CHECK-IN is at 5pm.
Earlier arrival is generally not possible.
We take the time to properly prepare your accommodation after the previous guests leave (10am): a full clean of our 120 m², beds made fresh, everything carefully checked. If we finish earlier, we’re happy to call you so you can come in sooner!
-
Yes, the regional Transports Nouvelle-Aquitaine bus serves Lacanau.
Activities & Discovery
-
The region is ideal for cycling. There are bike paths pretty much everywhere along the coast, as well as toward Bordeaux.
-
Plenty of trails are available from the tourist office.
-
Absolutely – the beach is just a few steps away (approx. 400 m). For a wilder, more secluded experience, you can cross the forest to the north and over the dune to reach deserted beaches. Please be careful: the Atlantic currents are strong – swim with caution!
There’s also the large lake (Étang de Lacanau) close by: lively on the Moutchic side, quieter and more family-friendly in the Longarisse bays. More info here.
-
Surfing is of course the main activity here! But cycling is also fantastic, thanks to the extensive network of bike paths (Piste Cyclable) built along the old railway line, leading in every direction – even all the way to Bordeaux.
There are also two golf courses nearby, a tennis/squash/padel club, a mini-golf, as well as plenty of water sports on the Étang de Lacanau (sailing, canoeing, paddleboarding, etc.).
-
Perfectly! 30 minutes by car or 1h30 by bus — ideal for a half-day trip. We’re happy to share our tips.
Comfort & Wellbeing
-
The house offers approx. 120 m² with 4 bedrooms for 2 people each. We find it ideal for 6 people – but 8 people can also stay very comfortably.
-
A large wooden terrace, a Weber barbecue, a wood-fired hot tub and a sauna complete the offering.
-
Yes, the sauna is included in the rental price
-
The firewood for the hot pot and fireplace is a premium service that we charge according to our rate schedule. Sourcing and preparing the wood requires considerable work (cutting, drying, storage), which is why we consider it a luxury item.
Of course, you’re welcome to bring your own wood or source it locally.
-
The house has many steps and unfortunately isn’t accessible to wheelchairs or strollers.
We recommend taking this into account when booking, especially for people with mobility difficulties or traveling with young children.
-
We provide a baby bed and high chair upon request.
Please note: the house has many steps due to its historic architecture. For young children’s safety, it’s possible to close off certain areas using the existing doors, limiting access to the stairs.
Wine, Gastronomy & Shops
-
As La Clochette is also rooted in the Bordeaux region (Fronsadais, approx. 80 km away), we’ve set up a wine fridge with our own natural, organic wines, as well as wines from friendly organic winemakers in the region.
